I am rachel alm,

mother of two, wife of a park ranger, and proud Arizona resident. I grew up among the tall ponderosas and feel most at home where the coyotes howl and the sky stretches long and wide. My love of learning and desire to heal led me to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Master Medical Herbalist. In addition, I am Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition and am honored to be an instructor for the Nutritional Therapy Association’s practitioner training program. In my classroom and in practice, I combine the science of holistic health with the art of compassionate, individualized support.

With each passing season I spend working with plant medicine, I align more deeply with my heart’s desire. An appreciation for the natural world and an inclination to support those who are suffering have always been a part of me. It was not until my own personal experience with serious illness that I knew just how powerfully nature’s medicine would influence my life. What started as a general interest in natural health became a fight for my life and an endless pursuit of knowledge over the last 14 years living with ulcerative colitis. Throughout this time, thanks to the wisdom of many great teachers including the plants themselves, my greatest lesson has been to S L O W  D O W N … and … L I S T E N.

Open Road Botanicals is an authentic expression of who I am and what brings me great joy. The products I create have been thoughtfully formulated to bring health and healing to those who seek it.
